Our Driving Lessons

At GET STARTED DRIVING, we believe that driving lessons should always be conducted by a professional driving instructor. For those with no experience, it is crucial that a fully qualified driving instructor teaches all aspects of driving safely and correctly. Our driving lessons focus on instilling good habits and ensuring that you are well-prepared for your driving test.

Since July 1st, 1996, learner drivers in the UK have been required to pass the theory test before taking the practical driving test. The theory test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and you must answer at least 43 correctly within 57 minutes. The hazard perception test follows, consisting of 14 clips, and you must score at least 46 out of 75 to pass. By taking driving lessons with a qualified instructor, you will be well-prepared for both parts of the theory test.

Your Driving Licence

To obtain a provisional driving licence, you must be at least 17 years old. Once you receive your provisional licence, you can begin taking driving lessons. The number of lessons you will need before sitting your practical test depends on your individual capabilities. On average, most learners require between 20 and 30 one-hour lessons to become confident and prepared for the practical test.

GET STARTED DRIVING offers driving lessons in Craigavon, Portadown, and Lurgan. Our popular test centre is located in the Carn Industrial Estate, Craigavon, covering the Lurgan, Moira, and central Craigavon areas. We also provide driving lessons in Armagh City, where another Driving Test Centre is situated.

Our experienced instructors have extensive knowledge of the various test routes in the region. Some routes may take you through Portadown town centre, which can be busy at certain times of the day. However, with the proper guidance and preparation from our instructors, you will be well-equipped to handle these challenges and pass your driving test with confidence.
